Half Day Sails

2 Half Day Sails are available each day on the "Iris", the "Tempest" and the "Express".

10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm.

On our Half Day Sails we plot our course with the winds and currents, exploring San Juan Channel, Griffin Bay and Turn Island State Park. While underway you'll get to see much of the wildlife and beauty of the Salish Sea. During the sail we provide beverages and snacks and offer instruction in sailing and navigation. Our skippers are long time island residents and can share stories of island history, geography, and a feel of the island experience.

On the day of your sail, please check in with office crew who will take you down to the docks to meet with your Skipper.  He will brief your party on the vessel, its gear, lines and safety equipment and the course for the trip. Once your on board, it’s time to push off, hoist the sails and set out into San Juan Channel.

Conditions can be variable, but summer sailing is usually moderate and sunny. Please check with crew before departure if you have any questions about what to bring.

We provide bottled water and "Iris" will have hot water for tea or coffee. You're welcome to bring any thing additional to eat or drink.

After a great sail and fun exploration, we'll head back to the harbor, drop and stow the sails, and make our way to the dock. Nice and simple and a whole lot of fun!

Ah, the joy and simplicity of day sailing!
